The Ramsbacher Family: Hosts with Heart

It’s lovely that you’re dropping in! We are Karin and Walter Ramsbacher, your hosts at the Kinderhotel Ramsi. Our house has been family-owned for over 100 years and we are now running it in the third generation.

What is most important to us? That you feel completely at home with us. Together with our employees (who are basically already part of the family) we practice true hospitality. Attentive, competent, humorous and cordial, so that you can enjoy your family holiday with us from A to Z.

We are always available for you – and we also join you on the road. Walter will take you to go hiking or skiing, for example.

Family holiday tradition for over 100 years

The Kinderhotel Ramsi has been family-owned for over 100 years. Strictly speaking, our great-grandfather bought the farm, from which our children’s hotel gradually developed, in 1902.

It all began with our own agriculture and forestry, which also included beekeeping. At the beginning of the fifties our first guests experienced “farm holidays” with us.

Over the years, we have repeatedly expanded and rebuilt, renovated and improved our hotel. Wellness areas, swimming pools, children’s playgrounds, suites and much more have taken shape.

Since 1992 we have been running our hotel as a children’s hotel. Many guests have come as strangers and become friends.

    Great-Grandfather bought the farm

    Our great-grandfather buys the property “Untergerald” and runs his own agriculture, forestry and beekeeping. There is also a sawmill and a grain mill.

    At the beginning of the fifties our first guests came to experience a “farm holiday”.

    We, the Ramsbachers, gradually reconstruct the residential and commercial building and offer our guests “farm holidays” for the first time.

    The Kinderhotel Ramsi

    An incisive year. We roll up our sleeves and ensure our hotel is tidily ordered. From now on we are the Kinderhotel Ramsi who give our small and large guests a great family holiday in the Gail Valley. In the following years we will complete a conservatory, our first sauna area and the first children’s playroom.

    Haus Sonnenschein, the children’s indoor pool and our sun terrace are ready.

    Our new building Haus Sonnenschein, the children’s indoor pool and much more take shape. The following year, our children’s indoor pool and our sun terrace are ready. A real treat!

    Walter and Karin Ramsbacher takes command

    The next generation with Walter and Karin Ramsbacher takes command. For the first time we offer family winter holidays with ski school operation, build the first indoor games paradise, the Wichtelbar and all sorts of other additions.

    Expanding our offerings und the four-star award

    New apartments, play areas, panoramic terrace, Ramsi Oasis of Wellbeing and many more are created. The following year we are pleased to be awarded the four-star award. In the following years, we remain cutting edge, modernising and expanding our offerings.

    Highlights: panoramic indoor pool, family sauna and 3D cinema

    We fulfil the wishes of our guests (and ours too) and build our panoramic indoor pool. The new family sauna and 3D cinema are further highlights. We continuously invest and expand.

  • 2020

    Highlights: Our new website with online booking system went live, and then everything turned topsy-turvy:

    The coronavirus kept the world in suspense. We made the best of it by implementing a new hygiene concept and many extras to ensure a safe holiday for our guests. In summer, we were handing out the +CARD holiday for the first time and in autumn we were happy to receive the sustainability award “KWF.Sustainable 2020”.
